"As both a consumate fingerpicker and a former member of Paul McCartney and Wings (1978-1981), Laurence Juber is well-qualified to create an album of solo acoustic guitar arrangements of Beatles favorites. And he does a bang-up job on the 14 classics included here. From his rollicking take on "I saw Her Standing There" to his soulful rendition of "Let It Be", Juber succeeds in retaining the hooks, musical ingenuity and charm of the original songs original melodies, Juber's superior technique and tone ensure that this is not just another round of Muzak Meets the Beatles. The big payoff is the albums final track "Can't Buy Me Love", where Juber allows himself the luxury of an impressionistic, truly personal and extremely cool arrangement.
