Dear Acoustic Guitar Aficionados,
Doug Smith and I are excited about our upcoming duo (Groovemasters) recording for Solid Air Records. We are currently sorting through our repertoire to choose the best material for this CD. We plan to include mostly self-composed tunes, including two new ones that we are working on together. It's a pleasure to play with Doug, and a real treat to work out intricate duets with him. Two of the world's most talented performing guitarists, Laurence Juber and Pat Kirtley, will join Accent On Music for a six-day guitar seminar this August just outside of Portland, Oregon. Not only are Laurence and Pat world-class performers, composers and arrangers, but are talented instructors as well. Along with their numerous recordings, Juber and Kirtley have many guitar instruction publications. They will join one of the best-known guitar authors working today, Mark Hanson. The three will conduct workshops, semi-private lessons, question-and-answer sessions and demonstrations, all designed to help you to improve as a guitarist and musician.
Evenings will include private performances from great players like Doug Smith and Terry Robb, who join Mark to form the Acoustic Guitar Summit. (Both will also be available for private lessons.) There will be plenty of interaction between the teachers and students. Advanced-beginners to advanced guitarists are very welcome to attend. A great, educational, and fun time will be had by all!
